Universal Backlit Film, Glossy / 8 mil

Kodak Universal Backlit Film, Glossy / 8 mil is a gloss-coated polyester backlit film used to produce vibrant light box display applications. The heavyweight front backlit is compatible with both dye and pigmented inks. This universal backlit offers water resistance with pigmented inks and looks great backlit or not.

Compatible with all thermal and piezo inkjet printers using water-based dye and pigment-based inks.

Software Settings

The heavyweight coated or gloss setting in most RIPs is appropriate; however, we recommend a custom ICC profile for optimal results. Please refer to www.brandmangagementgroup.com for ICC profiles for some printers.

Light-fastness

Inkjet ink fading time is based on the inks you use and print display environment. For light-fastness data and to determine an ink’s suitability for the application, contact the ink manufacturer.

Finishing/Post Processing

It is always recommended that a protective laminate be applied after printing. Hand applying laminate is not recommended. Pressure-sensitive or thermal laminates can be used. Before applying the laminate, allow the image to dry for 24 hours.

Optimal Service Environment

72° F (21° C), 50% R.H. For end use: 0-300° F.

Handling Recommendations

Avoid touching the coated surface and use cotton gloves when handling inkjet coated materials. Rolls of Kodak inkjet media come with the coated side facing out.

Ideal Storage Conditions

70° F (21° C), 50% R.H. (a controlled environment is recommended); store in original packaging.

Shelf Life

1 year from the BMG ship date when stored in proper conditions.
